The Current ISS Crew – Who’s on the International Space Station?
Upcoming mission: Crew-12 (February 12, 2026 — planned)
NASA’s SpaceX Crew-12 mission is scheduled to launch no earlier than February 12, 2026, at 5:38 a.m. EST from Space Launch Complex-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Crew Dragon spacecraft. This crew rotation will restore a full complement of astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
Before launch, the crew completed a dry dress rehearsal at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, practicing launch-day operations such as suiting up, traveling to the launch pad, boarding the spacecraft, and reviewing safety procedures. Launch teams also rehearsed countdown operations and confirmed the readiness of both the launch vehicle and spacecraft.

Crew-11 returns to Earth (January 2026)
The Crew-11 mission astronauts — Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke (NASA), Kimiya Yui (JAXA), and Oleg Platonov (Roscosmos) — returned to Earth on January 15, 2026, following an early return decision by NASA after a medical issue occurred aboard the International Space Station.
After their departure, the ISS is temporarily operating with a reduced crew composed of Chris Williams (NASA) and cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev (Roscosmos), while awaiting the arrival of the next crew rotation that will restore the station’s usual staffing level.
This unusual situation, rare in the history of the ISS, limits certain operations such as spacewalks and temporarily slows down the scientific program aboard the station.
The ISS crew is currently composed of ten astronauts: Sergey Ryzhikov (Roscosmos), Alexey Zubritsky (Roscosmos), Jonny Kim (NASA), Anne McClain (NASA), Nichole Ayers (NASA), Takuya Onishi (JAXA), and Kirill Peskov (Roscosmos). They were recently joined by Chris Williams (NASA), Sergey Kud-Sverchkov (Roscosmos), and Sergei Mikaev (Roscosmos) aboard Soyuz MS-28.
On December 8, Jonny Kim, Sergey Ryzhikov, and Alexey Zubritsky will begin preparing for their return to Earth after eight months in orbit.

ISS Crew Rotation – March 2025
It should be noted that astronauts Sunita « Suni » Williams and Barry « Butch » Wilmore extended their stay aboard the ISS due to technical issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft encountered during its test mission in June 2024. Originally planned for just one week, their mission was extended to nine months. They returned to Earth on March 18, 2025, aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon Freedom capsule, along with Nick Hague (NASA) and Aleksandr Gorbunov (Roscosmos). The capsule successfully splashed down off the coast of Florida
