ISS Live Streaming Video of the Earth
The international space station (ISS) is equipped with a system of cameras located outside to film the Earth. NASA ensures permanent retransmission. ISS Live Streamnig :
Live views from the International Space Station are streaming from an external camera mounted on the station’s Harmony module. The camera is looking forward at an angle so that International Docking Adapter 2 is visible. If the Harmony module camera is not available due to operational considerations for a longer period of time, a continuous loop of recorded Earth views will be displayed with the caption “Previously Recorded.” The space station orbits Earth about 250 miles (425 kilometers) above the surface. An international partnership of five space agencies from 15 countries operates the station, and it has been continuously occupied since November 2000. It’s a microgravity laboratory where science, research, and human innovation make way for new technologies and research breakthroughs not possible on Earth. More: https://go.nasa.gov/3CkVtC8
ISS High Definition Live Streaming Video of the Earth
After HDEV stopped sending any data on July 18, 2019, it was declared, on August 22, 2019, to have reached its end of life. Thank You to all who shared in experiencing and using the HDEV views of Earth from the ISS to make HDEV so much more than a Technology Demonstration Payload!
NASA’s YouTube Broadcasts May Be Interrupted and Restarted . If the stream on this page is interrupted, feel free to visit NASA’s official YouTube channel for continued coverage. The High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment mounted on the ISS External Payload Facility of the European Space Agency’s Columbus module was activated April 30, 2014 and after 5 years and 79 days was viewed by more than 318 million viewers across the globe on USTREAM (now IBM Video) alone.
